Retford Park was once the home of James Fairfax AC, who always believed that the estate should be preserved for the enjoyment and benefit of future generations. In 2016 Mr Fairfax gifted his historic home to the National Trust of Australia, and the estate (home and gardens) is currently open to the public Thursday to Sunday. Visitors can explore the grand Victorian homestead and the magnificent gardens. One of the best way to enjoy the gardens is to pack a picnic! Visitors who wish to tour the house are strongly encouraged to pre-book a timed ticket via the link below. The estate is open 10am to 4pm.
