100% Home-Grown Artist Of The Month is Southern Highlands’ singer/songwriter and guitarist, Amber Kenny. During September, Highland FM 107.1 will showcase a selection of Amber’s music from her debut album “Beautiful Scars”.

This album is a collection of intimate songs that share the stories of Amber’s own scars, which lie on the inside and out.
Amber Kenny’s desire to play music began at Leura in the Blue Mountains, the family then relocated to Sydney for a few years before she ended up in Robertson in the Highlands, where she now lives on a farm with her family and horses.
Her career, like probably many of us, has been varied. Being a qualified actor, she also teaches acting – she is also a horse riding coach and a music teacher.
But it is performing with her guitar that is at the forefront of her ambition. In Amber’s own words “It’s important to write songs and connect with people in a live concert.”
The new album is full of authenticity and raw emotion, each song is interwoven with the next. Balanced through her own lens of life, ‘Beautiful Scars’ is how Amber makes sense of the world, the people in it and the situations that have forever changed her.
