ReFrame Youth Mental Health Service

ReFrame is a FREE walk-in service for young people aged 12-25 in the Wollondilly and Wingecarribee areas. ReFrame provides psychological therapies delivered by our Mental Health Professionals and Youth Engagement Workers. We provide information, support and services for young people who are having a tough time managing:
  • Stress, anxiety or worry
  • Depression or feelings of sadness
  • Physical health
  • Family and relationships, study or work pressures

Skate Workshop

Totem have partnered with Wingecarribee Shire Council to run a Learn to Skate Workshop! The workshop is focused on inclusion, participation and confidence-building while incorporating the fundamental movement skills considered to be the building blocks for movement. The event is open to ages 5 years and up and is funded by the NSW Government. A free BBQ will be hosted by Highlands Youth Services. Equipment is provided, including professional grade safety gear, helmets and skateboards. The beginner session will kick off at 3pm, and the intermediate session will kick off at 4pm. It is a free event, but you do need to reserve tickets through the Eventbrite site.

The Man Walk Bowral

The man walk provides an opportunity for men to get together to walk, talk and support each other in a regular and healthy way. The Man Walk provides an environment that is positive, supportive and inclusive, where there is no pressure and no barriers to entry. Just an opportunity to walk, talk and support! We want to make it ok to talk, and we want to make it ok for men to ask for help if they need it. The Man Walk Bowral meets every Tuesday and Thursday morning at Bowral Swimming Centre at 545am, and every Wednesday evening at the Scottish Arms Hotel at 5pm.

The Railway Street Fresh Food and Produce Market is an authentic farmers market with an accent on primary produce (the freshest fruit and vegetables) grown locally using regenerative farming practices. The Mittagong Markets are a friendly, local, affordable country market for all the family... and your dog!  Enjoy a friendly, local, affordable country-style market with a wide range of stalls. CWA Southern Highlands Evening Branch Meetings

Southern Highlands Evening Branch of the CWA of NSW was formed in November 2011 for women who preferred an evening meeting and to complement the day branches in the district. The Colo Vale Village Markets are back! Each market has a different theme and the organisers encourage community displays such as Vintage Cars plus fresh local produce and great Devonshire Teas. The Village Men’s Shed provide an assortment of unique hand made items. A team of volunteers provide gourmet food for lunch at reasonable prices. Mahalia Barnes & The Soul Mates

Mahalia Barnes has been in and around music her entire life. Throughout her childhood years she was exposed to everything from Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett to Ike + Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, all of which helped shape her into the powerhouse soul and blues vocalist that has jaws dropping every time she picks up a mic. Gang of Five “Chapter 21” Exhibition

The Gang Of Five is a group of painters based in Sydney and the Southern Highlands collectively exhibiting their body of work in galleries around Australia. Their aims and aspirations are varied but they all agree that their work must communicate with the public at large, hopefully making it more aware of the Australian environment, whether natural or political. Their Chapter 21 Exhibition will be held at the Bowral Gallery from February 10th to February 23rd, with the exhibition opening night held on Friday, 12th of February 6pm to 8pm.

Opening of the Robertson Men’s and Women’s Shed

The RMSI is a community organisation devoted to helping men and community, and promote health and well being for the men and women of the Robertson and surrounds community. In 2020 RMSI received a grant through the Stronger Country Communities program to fund the construction of a new shed and community hub at the CTC@Robertson facility. The official opening of the new facility will take place on Saturday, 13th February. There will be tours of the shed and the facilities, a jumping castle and food stalls.

Tim Freedman Hot Autumn Nights 2021

After a sold out 35 date tour in November and December, Tim Freedman will re-emerge in March with a brand new solo show "Hot Autumn Nights 2021". This snappy run through the country will preview three more songs from The Whitlams' forthcoming album "Gaffage and Clink", and also premiere reworkings of some of his favourite tracks from Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Randy Newman. Performing to limited capacities, and bringing a grand piano to most of the venues, Freedman will once again mix cabaret and rock in his own sardonic style. He will be performing in Bowral on Saturday, 6th of March!

Earth Hour Sculpture in the Gardens

The Earth Hour celebrations at the Southern Highland Botanic Gardens in 2021 will include a sculpture exhibition and competition. SHBG has invited individuals to create a piece of sculpture from recycled material to highlight the concept of art and sustainability, and the winners will be announced at the event. There will be live music and refreshments available, or you can bring your own picnic. The event will be held on Saturday 27th March 5.00pm to 9.00pm. Gates open 5.00pm, and lights will go out at 7.30pm for Earth Hour.

Bundanoon Highland Gathering

The Bundanoon Highland Gathering began on 21 October 1978 with a principle aim of raising funds for local charities and bring tourists to Bundanoon and the Southern Highlands, benefiting local businesses, guesthouses and hotels. Continuing to this day, “Bundanoon is Brigadoon” has become one of the most successful events staged in the area. From its humble beginnings of a handful of pipe bands and spectators, and is recognised worldwide and has grown to into one of the finest Highland Gatherings in Australia. Brigadoon 2021 will go ahead, rain hail or shine!
