Calling all Quilters! Australia’s premier quilting event, the Australasian Quilt Convention announces the 2025 AQC Challenge Theme: “On the Map”. Quilters of all ages, skill levels and from all around the globe are invited to create a 90cm x 90 cm quilt that captures their creative interpretation of the theme.Entrants can submit images of their completed quilts ($30 fee per quilt) at https://aqc.com.au/2025-aqc-challenge/, before Thursday 6th February 2025, for the exciting opportunity to be selected as one of the 30 finalists for 2025.
The Australasian Quilt Convention will return to the Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne between April 10 - April 13 2025.

In this magnificent exhibition Nafisa showcases an extravaganza of ink and pastel works on handmade papers, rich oil paintings from Tuscan scenes to Australian native birds and wildflowers alongside delicately hand painted porcelain sculptures and nostalgic antique teacups.

This market is set in the grounds of the iconic Moss Vale Showground, a beautiful location with shady trees and an undercover area, and features many local artisans with handmade craft, jams, relishes, soaps, candles, giftware’s and art. There is live music and the miniature train rides run through market hours. Come down wander through the grounds and grab a coffee, freshly baked breads, street foods, pastries and fresh flowers. The Moss Vale Rotary are often there raising much needed funds via gold coin donation at the main gate and also operate their canteen with Devonshire teas and a BBQ. Market runs on the third Sunday of every month and kicks off at 9am.

The Highlands Miniature Railway runs in conjunction with the Moss Vale Showground Markets. The little ride-on trains will be running from 10am until about 2pm. The railway is situated in the far eastern corner of the showgrounds (the Robertson end). Signs will be out! Fully covered footwear is mandatory for all train passengers. Come along, bring the family and have a great time at the markets and with the model trains. The Highlands Miniature Railway is also looking for new members to run the trains and maintain the track!
