Since launching the 100% Home-Grown Artist of the Month initiative, Highland FM has proudly showcased some of the region’s most exciting and authentic musical voices. From indie folk to alt-pop and genre-blending brilliance, each artist has brought their unique sound and story to our airwaves.
For April, we’re celebrating some of the most memorable Artists of the Month – musicians whose work has stayed with us long after their feature. Whether you’re a long-time listener or new to the 100% Home-Grown journey, this is your chance to revisit or discover these exceptional local artists.

Isy Capo – September 2021
Responsible for every part of the creative process, from writing her own lyrics, creating her own musical accompaniment and directing her music video recordings, Isy Cappo weaves complex harmonies and melodies with a narrative that only the dreams of youth can inspire. An old soul in a young mind, and painting sonic landscapes of a world unimagined, the power of her voice is a gift the keeps on giving.
Her pop sensibilities are underscored by the joy of making music and a dedication to create tracks that can speak to everyone. From straight out rock to raw emotional ballads, she pivots from one genre to another with an unerring sense of confidence that speaks to her true talents as an artist

Angus Murray – June 2022
Born into a family of musicians who nurtured and supported his passion for music and influenced him to embrace the joy of playing and entertaining, Angus Murray draws inspiration from artists across all genres including Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Blues, and Soul.
He is committed to constantly growing and evolving as an artist and gets a thrill from offering fans new and exciting material with each release.
Angus has shared the stage with well known artists such as Diesel, Daryl Braithwaite, Margaret Urlich, John Waters, Leo Sayer, Darren Percival, Mahalia Barnes, John Paul Young, 19 Twenty, Kevin Johnson. Shannon Noll and many more.

Dave Debs – January 2023
Southern Highlands singer/songwriter Dave Debs has been performing professionally on the Australian music scene for over 30 years. He has amassed around 6000 live performances and has three acclaimed albums of original songs.
Dave Debs blends influences of roots country/blues, folk and soul into his own distinctive style, a blend that has seen him collaborating with some of Australia’s finest musicians including Dan Rumour (The Cruel Sea) , Chris Bailey (The Angels, GangGajang) , multi-instrumentalist George Washingmachine and legendary guitarist Tim Gaze. He has also performed as support for international acts such as Kevin Welch, Ralph McTell, Kinky Friedman and others.

Loki Hines – January 2024
Loki Hines, hailing from Robertson in the Southern Highlands of NSW, is a gifted singer/songwriter who weaves contemporary Americana roots with an indie folk vibe. A mesmerising presence, Loki radiates on stage, showcasing his guitar skills with artistic brilliance. His musical path has graced venues across Australia and beyond, crafting a captivating odyssey of performances.
Following the soaring success of his maiden EP, ‘Wildfire’, Loki burst into the Australian airwaves with his chart topping track ‘Running Out Of Time’, engaging audiences not only in Australia but also compelling listeners in Canada, Ireland and the UK.

Mariah K – February 2024
From Crookwell NSW, singer/songwriter Mariah K inherited her enchanting singing, poetic expressions and passion for music from her Greek grandmother. Her Mediterranean roots are the inspiration for Mariah K to craft music rich in lively storytelling and soulful melodies.
Mariah K’s journey took an unexpected turn when she caught the attention of Kyle Sandilands during his surprise visit to her family cafe in Crookwell. This led to an invitation to participate in Australian Idol 2023. Excited to explore the limitless world of music, Mariah K has a future without boundaries.

Bald & The Beautiful – May 2024
Enter the enigmatic trio, Bald & The Beautiful, whose music outruns mere notes and chords. With a masterful blend of even tempered composure and tensioned restraint, their originality invites listeners on an odyssey through the depths of human experience.
Crafting secretive lyrical content from deep-seated experiences, the band dishes out their messages over the grail of guitar, bass and drums with a sly finesse. Their music is a rollercoaster of emotions, ranging from pressurised intensity to charming allure, from shocking revelations to soul-searching introspection, keeping you hooked at every twist and turn.

Headlands – July 2024
Headlands is an electrifying jazz duo that seamlessly merges youthful exuberance with musical sophistication. This dynamic pair is poised to make a lasting impression on the Australian jazz scene, mesmerising audiences with a sound that combines the raw energy of their formative years and the refined artistry of seasoned musicians.
In mid-2023, during a business skills for musicians masterclass, Sam Baxendale was introduced to Cass Pyc. Impressed by her talent, Cass invited her to join him for an impromptu performance that evening. The duo quickly adapted, incorporating Sam’s vocals and soon began opening for international jazz acts. They are a thrilling presence, set to redefine jazz for a new generation.

Olivia Pearl – September 2024
Olivia Pearl, an emerging singer-songwriter from the Southern Tablelands, has a whimsical pop sound that’s hard to ignore. With an open and honest approach, she fearlessly lays bare her emotions, crafting heartfelt lyrics that speak to the shared experiences of pain, loss and love. Unafraid to be vulnerable, her music has a way of drawing listeners in and making them feel a part of her story.
Striking a perfect balance between deep emotion, clever lyrics and driving beats, Olivia uses songwriting as a powerful tool for self-discovery and connection. Her music reflects her own journey through tunes that are both genuine and evocative

Harrison Graham – December 2024
Harrison Graham, a singer/songwriter and guitarist from the Southern Highlands of NSW, has made a name for himself with a laid back style that weaves together elements of folk, jazz, rock and blues. Growing up in a family where music was a shared language, he was surrounded by instruments, melodies and the kind of encouragement that nurtured his love for playing and performing.
As he continues his journey, Harrison is committed to growth, always pushing himself to expand his artistic horizons and elevate his sound. With a fierce passion for music, Harrison Graham is on an exciting path, and his future is one to watch.
